About Future Captains

As Tampa Bay natives, the founders of Future Captains have spent a lifetime captivated by the natural wonders of our beloved coastal paradise. The sparkling waters of Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico have been their playground, a source of inspiration, and a sanctuary of solace.

 

However, it was during their careers teaching underprivileged youth at Pinellas County Schools that the seeds of Future Captains were sown. They quickly realized that not everyone had the opportunity to experience the sheer joy and breathtaking beauty of a day on the water, right in their own backyard.

Seeing this gap in access, these passionate educators turned advocates embarked on a mission to bridge the divide. Drawing from their deep-rooted love for fishing and the transformative experiences it offers, they founded Future Captains. Their vision was simple yet profound: to extend the gift of angling to those who might not otherwise have the chance.

With a dedicated team of like-minded individuals, they set out to create a space where fishing was not just a pastime, but a conduit for empowerment and positive change. Through free fishing trips, educational programs in conservation, and inclusive experiences on the water, Future Captains was born.
